The delegation of the Prosecutor General's Office headed by Deputy Prosecutor General Ulan Baizhanov with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Swiss Confederation held talks with the Basel Institute of Management, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of GPO RK.
The International Asset Recovery Center (ICAR), which is part of this Institute, is one of the largest in the world, assisting law enforcement agencies of various countries.
Following the talks, the parties signed an agreement on cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan and the Basel Institute of Management.
According to the terms of the Agreement, the experts of the Basel Institute will assist the General Prosecutor's Office of Kazakhstan in the following areas:
- analysis and recommendations for improving the regulatory legal acts regulating the issues of asset recovery;
- legal and advisory assistance in conducting international investigations and preparing requests for criminal cases related to the return of assets from abroad;
- conducting trainings and seminars on financial investigations and asset recovery, including on obtaining online information from the registers of beneficial owners of companies and property owners around the world.
