Exhibition of works from the Tretyakov Gallery to open in Almaty

Works from the collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery will be presented in Almaty. Details of the forthcoming exhibition were announced following a meeting between the Ministers of Culture of Kazakhstan and Russia, El.kz reports citing the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The exhibition “Legacy of an Era: 20th-Century Art from the Collection of the State Tretyakov Gallery” will open on October, 8 at the Abylkhan Kasteyev National Museum of Arts. The exhibition will feature 30 works of art.

Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Kyrykbayev and Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation Olga Lyubimova held a meeting to discuss details of the forthcoming project on the sidelines of the 12th St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures, which brought together 43 foreign delegations.

At the outset of the talks, Olga Lyubimova expressed her condolences over the deaths of Kazakh military personnel in the Mangystau region.

The ministers also discussed the organisation of “Hermitage Days” at the National Museum of Kazakhstan. Another topic was the work of the Sub-Commission on Cultural and Humanitarian Cooperation, with its next meeting scheduled to take place in Astana in the first half of 2027.
