Eurasian Civil Aviation Conference established in Central Asia

European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC) held its first meeting in Almaty, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The representatives of the aviation departments of the five countries discussed issues of coordination and cooperation in the field of flight safety, aviation security and sustainable development. This new platform will allow the countries of Central Asia to consolidate their positions in the international arena and cooperate with ICAO, the European Commission, IATA and other world organizations,

Vice Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Talgat Lastayev, who opened the meeting, noted the importance of creating an organization of this level for the region, emphasizing its role in strengthening cooperation, exchanging best practices and joint preparation for new challenges. Within the framework of the meeting, the participants signed a declaration on the establishment of the EACAC, on the Kazakh side, the document was certified by the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee Saltanat Tompiyeva.

Director General of the Aviation Administration Catalin Radu said that ECAC will allow the countries of the region to coordinate efforts and develop a common opinion on international platforms. During the event, initiatives were also presented to create a Center of Excellence for training aviation personnel and a single database of inspectors .

Following the meeting, Talgat Lastayev has been appointed Secretary General of ECAC, and the head of the Civil Aviation Agency of Uzbekistan Takhir Nazarov has been  appointed as the  President. Among the tasks of the new organization are the development of common policies, the coordination of international standards, the creation of a single "pool" of technical resources and the training of specialists for civil aviation.
