Environmental campaign “Taza Ozen” held in the Zhetisu region

As part of the nationwide environmental campaign “Taza Kazakhstan”, the environmental campaign “Taza Ozen” was held in the Zhetisu region. The initiative was aimed at promoting environmental awareness among the population and fostering a responsible attitude towards the environment, El.kz reports citing the Department of Internal Policy of the Zhetisu Region.

The main objective of the campaign was to raise public awareness of the importance of maintaining the cleanliness of natural areas, proper waste sorting and disposal, as well as to encourage greater environmental engagement among young people and volunteers.

As part of the campaign, young people, volunteers and local residents cleaned up the riverside area along the Karatal River. Participants were also informed about the importance of waste segregation, subsequent recycling and the sustainable use of natural resources.

“Environmental cleanliness begins with each and every one of us. Today, we are not only cleaning up the banks of the Karatal River, but also seeking to demonstrate by our own example how important it is to treat nature with care. Initiatives like this bring residents together and foster a responsible attitude towards the environment,” , Ombudsperson of the Alliance of Students of Kazakhstan for the Zhetisu Region said.

The environmental quest was of particular interest to the participants. Teams completed thematic tasks related to environmental protection, waste sorting, the sustainable use of natural resources and environmentally responsible behaviour.

Following the quest, the top-performing teams were identified. The winners and most active participants received certificates, letters of appreciation and special prizes.

The campaign not only contributed to the practical improvement of the riverside area, but also served as an important public information and awareness-raising platform. Participants were reminded of the importance of maintaining cleanliness in public spaces and using natural resources responsibly.

The event also promoted the principle “Taza Zhetisu – Taza Bolashak” (“Clean Zhetisu – Clean Future”), which seeks to unite residents of the region around the values of cleanliness, environmental responsibility and the preservation of nature for future generations.

As a result of the environmental campaign, the embankment area along the Karatal River was cleared of litter. The organizers noted that initiatives of this kind contribute to strengthening environmental awareness, developing the volunteer movement and enhancing residents’ civic responsibility for the state of the environment.
