ENU professor receives prestigious Japanese award

Tokyo, the capital of Japan, hosted the Japanese Geotechnical Society Award ceremony where Professor of the L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University, Director of the ENU Geotechnical Institute Askar Zhussupbekov was awarded for outstanding achievements in strengthening scientific and technical cooperation between the Japanese Geotechnical and Kazakh Geotechnical Societies, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The award was presented by the President of the Japanese Geotechnical Society, Junichi Koseki

Thanks to Professor Askar Zhussupbekov’s efforts, 20 doctoral students of the L.N. Gumilyov ENU has completed scientific internships in Japanese universities, and more than 20 Japanese professors have read and are lecturing at Kazakhstani universities. A geoinformation database for Astana has been developed jointly with Kyoto University and the Geo-Research Institute (Osaka).

The ENU scientist has lectured for more than 20 Japanese universities and major Japanese geotechnical centers.
