Elections of akims started in Kazakhstan

On November 5, the first elections of akims of districts and cities of regional significance were held. This step became possible thanks to the initiative of the Head of State and the approval of lists of districts and cities for participation in the elections by maslikhats of the regions, El.kz reports.

A total of 1,553 election commissions at different levels were involved in the process, reflecting the breadth and significance of the event.

A total of 125 candidates were represented in the elections, which underlines the alternative and competitive nature of the process.

The turnout of the population was high, with a turnout of 62.79%, which emphasizes civic involvement in the country's political processes. The average age of the elected akims was 46.7 years, which indicates the desire for renewal and youth energy in the management of the regions.

The election campaign was held strictly within the framework of the norms of the electoral legislation of the republic, which is confirmed by the presence of about 8,500 proxies, observers and media representatives.

The Central Election Commission of the Republic of Kazakhstan provided methodological guidance and control over the elections, ensuring their transparency and fairness.
