In Kazakhstan, the protection of intellectual property rights is actively developing, and over time, a modern legal framework for the protection of intellectual property rights holders has been formed, El.kz reports with reference to the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

The rapidity of progress poses new challenges for the EAEU Member States in terms of ensuring the protection of copyright holders in the online environment.

Taking into account the absence of "digital borders", the Republic of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the EAEU member states, is working on the principle of "win to win" the development of a draft international treaty to combat violations of intellectual property rights on the Internet.

The document defines the current mechanisms for the legal protection of intellectual property in the digital space.

The EAEU Member States are committed to creating a safe and innovative online environment that respects the rights and supports rights holders.

Currently, the international agreement is at the design stage and is being finalized taking into account the interests of the Kazakh side.

The adoption of this agreement is planned for 2025.
