Famous Kazakh singer Dimash Kudaibergen as part of the jury took part in the opening ceremony of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) film festival in Mumbai, on Instagram he published a video from the event, El.kz reports.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization Film Festival is held with the aim of promoting the art of cinema, exchanging cultural programs and forming a common cinematic experience. India in 2023, as chairman of the SCO Council of Heads of State, will host this film festival, which will last from January 27 to 31.
Participants, in addition to India, were such countries as: China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Uzbekistan.
"Jury member Dimash Kudaibergen from Kazakhstan is a world-famous musical performer in the genres of pop, classical crossover, folk and opera variety. His name is known in Eastern Europe and Asia, especially in Kazakhstan, his home country, as well as in China, Russia, with a fan base in more than 120 countries," Dimash was introduced during the opening of the festival.
The festival brought together popular film actors. One of them is an Indian actor who has starred in more than 350 films, Mithun Chakroborty. He performed songs from the movie "Disco Dancer".
The program of the Mumbai Film Festival includes 57 films.
