A unified automated system of school libraries will appear in Kazakhstan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Since last year, on behalf of the Head of State, the Children's Library project has been implemented in the country. The Republican Scientific and Pedagogical Library has formed a list of fiction from 1770 works recommended for reading. The number of reading schoolchildren increased by 200 thousand.
Dwelling on topical issues in the library system, the Minister of Education noted the important role of librarians in educating and improving the reading culture of the younger generation.
"School libraries should become a place of attraction for all educational routes. A tremendous amount of work is being done to modernize reading halls to awaken interest in reading books and revive family reading traditions. Co-working centers are being opened, creative evenings are being held. At the beginning of this year, meeting with the creative intelligentsia here in Almaty, we launched a project to promote Kazakh literature. Now domestic works are available on the websites of schools, and our young authors can register and also publish their artistic and scientific works," Gani Beisembayev said.
