Digital health record book becomes available to citizens of Kazakhstan

Kazakhstan has launched an electronic Personal Medical Record Book. Employees engaged in occupations subject to mandatory public health requirements are no longer required to carry a paper-based medical record book, as all relevant information is now accessible through a mobile application, El.kz reports citing the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The electronic Personal Medical Record Book is another government digital service made available to citizens of Kazakhstan.

Employees in occupations subject to mandatory public health requirements can now present a valid Personal Medical Record Book directly from their smartphone. The paper-based document is no longer required.

According to the Ministry of Health, the service is already available through the eGov Mobile and Halyk mobile applications.

Faster monitoring of mandatory medical examinations

The transition to a digital format has enhanced the capabilities of the sanitary and epidemiological service.

Authorized public health officials can now remotely monitor compliance with mandatory periodic medical examinations for employees engaged in occupations subject to mandatory public health requirements.

Where the validity of a mandatory medical examination has expired, the sanitary and epidemiological authorities will be able to take prompt enforcement action, including temporarily suspending an employee from work until the non-compliance has been remedied.

Unified digital ecosystem for the sanitary and epidemiological serrvice

The Ministry of Health noted that, for the first time, Kazakhstan has established a unified digital ecosystem for the sanitary and epidemiological service.

“The ecosystem integrates state sanitary and epidemiological surveillance, mandatory medical examinations for employees engaged in occupations subject to mandatory public health requirements, laboratory testing, enterprise production control, and population vaccination monitoring,” the Ministry said.
