The Kazakh delegation headed by the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bolat Akchulakov took part in the international conference "CERAWeek 2023" in Houston, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Traditionally, the CERAWeek forum hosts participants from more than 60 countries, including energy ministers, heads of international organizations and energy companies.
During the conference, the Kazakh delegation took part in the discussion of topical issues of the global energy agenda.
In particular, Bolat Akchulakov, along with the Minister of Energy of Algeria Mohamed Arkab and the Secretary General of the International Energy Forum Joseph McMonigle, acted as a speaker at the panel session "Dialogue of Energy Ministers".
During the session, Bolat Akchulakov spoke about the current situation in the oil and gas sector of Kazakhstan, further plans to modernize the industry, measures taken to attract investment, such as an improved model contract, the development of renewable energy sources, the FEZ "National Industrial Petrochemical Technopark", as well as plans for decarbonization of the oil and gas industry.
In addition, during the visit, the Kazakh delegation, which also included representatives of NC KazMunayGas JSC, QazaqGaz NC JSC and others, held meetings with the heads of large international companies, in particular, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Shell and with the Chairman of the Board of Eni Claudio Descalzi, etc.
Meetings were held with U.S. Special Representative for Climate Affairs John Carrie, Vice Chairman of S&P Global Daniel Yergin, Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt, and Assistant Secretary of the Treasury Elizabeth Rosenberg.
