Almaty has adopted a design code aimed at preserving the historical appearance of the city and creating an image of the future metropolis, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the city's mayor.
Maslikhat deputies approved new standards, developed taking into account the opinion of experts and citizens, and the mayor of the city, Yerbolat Dossayev, instructed to implement them in stages.
- The transition period will allow for flexible adaptation to new standards. The new facilities will comply with the full scope of the recommendations, and an integrated approach is provided for the existing ones. A website-service of the design code has been developed, which will become a tool for public dialogue and joint work in the implementation of new standards, the report says.
The design code includes six applications that describe different areas: outdoor information, navigation, outdoor furniture, landscaping, facades, and fences. On behalf of the mayor, the 7th application for lighting urban facilities was added.
