Darkhan Kydyrali meets with Secretary General of Muslim Council of Elders

Within the framework of the forum "Incubator of World Governments for Tolerance", held in Abu Dhabi, Minister of Information and Social Development Darkhan Kydyrali met with Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Elders Mohammed Abdelsalam, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Information and Social Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Council of Elders is an independent international organization. The institute, founded in 2014, promotes the values of peace and harmony in the Muslim community.

At the meeting in the office of the Council, Darkhan Kydyrali thanked his colleague for the invitation to the forum and noted that international organizations play an important role in the development of interfaith harmony and dialogue.

In addition, the Minister stressed that, given the substantive significance and relevance of the declaration of the VII Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, held in Astana, the role of the Council will be special promoting this document.

Further work on opening a representative office of the organization in Kazakhstan is also being discussed. This representation will contribute to the promotion of tolerance and peace in the region.

In his speech, Mohammed Abdelsalam praised the work of Kazakhstan in interreligious and interethnic relations and expressed the initiative to deepen cooperation in this area.

Following the meeting, the Minister invited Mohammed Abdelsalam to the international forum of volunteers, which will be held in Astana.

Darkhan Kydyrali also met with the Executive Director of the Hedaya Center Ahmed al-Qasimi in Abu Dhabi.

The International Center, opened in 2012, is engaged in research and rehabilitation in the field of combating extremism and terrorism.

Darkhan Kydyrali noted that the connection between the ministry and the Hedaya center will be further strengthened.

Currently, topical issues on countering violent extremism have been discussed.
