Committee for Protection of Water Resources established in Kazakhstan

The Committee for Regulation, Protection and Use of Water Resources was established under the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation,El.kz reports.

The new committee will fight against the illegal use of water and the distortion of its accounting data, as well as illegal economic activities on the country's water bodies.

"The Ministry takes special control over the fight against the illegal use of water. The work of the new committee is aimed at preventing offenses and protecting the country's water resources. Together with the proposed amendments to the legislation, this should significantly strengthen the fight against the "black market" of water,"

- said the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Nurzhan Nurzhigitov.
