Also, the level of gasification will grow in the country to 65% by 2030.

QazaqGaz told about the Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Country's Gas Industry for 2022-2026, El.kz reports with reference to the BaigeNews.kz.

According to the document, Kazakhstan plans to increase the production of commercial gas by 2030 by 43.2 percent - up to 42.1 billion cubic meters against 29.4 billion cubic meters in 2021, according to a comprehensive plan for the development of the country's gas industry.

"By 2030, crude gas production in Kazakhstan is expected to reach 87 billion cubic meters, of which only 42.1 billion cubic meters will be processed into commercial gas (48 percent). The rest of the gas will be used for own needs or pumped back into the reservoir," the approved comprehensive plan for the development of the country's gas industry says.

The document notes that geological exploration is a costly and high-risk process. Therefore, the primary goal is to introduce the already identified gas resources into production, and already as the fields are developed, it is necessary to carry out exploration work in order to replenish reserves.

According to forecasts, in 2022 gas production in the country will be about 57.5 billion cubic meters, of which 29.6 billion cubic meters will be processed. In 2021, gas production in Kazakhstan amounted to 53.8 billion cubic meters.

"In the field of development of the domestic market, the company aims to increase the level of gasification to 65 percent by 2030 and achieve break-even. The implementation of the general scheme of gasification of the Republic of Kazakhstan will continue with the involvement of private investments of independent gas distribution organizations," QazaqGaz reported.

It is also noted that the Comprehensive Plan defines the vision and main approaches to the phased reform and integrated development of the gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the period up to 2030.

The adoption of the Comprehensive Plan makes it possible to develop new approaches to regulating the gas market, create conditions for attracting investments in the gas industry, expand the resource base of gas to increase the production of commercial gas and further develop the fuel and energy complex, and will also ensure uninterrupted and safe gas supply to the country's consumers.
