On the sidelines of the business forum of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, held on April 17, 2024 in Astana, the business circles of the two countries signed commercial documents in which they consolidated their intentions to implement projects in the field of construction of solar power plants, a ferroalloy plant, a distribution center in the Kyrgyz Republic, on the supply of agricultural products and others, for a total of $300 million, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The opening of the event was attended by Deputy Prime Ministers of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan Serik Zhumangarin and Adylbek Kasymaliyev. The forum was attended by companies engaged in the fields of mechanical engineering, industry, metallurgy, construction, logistics, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, investment, and services. The business forum was organized by the Ministry of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the QazTrade Trade Policy Development Center JSC.
At the end of 2023, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan increased by 26% compared to the previous year, reaching $1.6 billion. The share of Kazakhstan's exports is almost 69%, or $1.1 billion (an increase of 35.8%). Imports – 495.2 million US dollars (an increase of 9%).
