Caspian countries discuss seal conservation

The National Action Plan for the Conservation of this Species in the Caspian Sea was presented

On November 16, the Fisheries Committee held an international webinar on the topic "Problems of studying and preserving the Caspian seal" with the participation of representatives of the Caspian countries: Azerbaijan, Russia and Turkmenistan, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During the event, each participating country presented information on the state of the Caspian seal population on its territory, and the Kazakh scientific community presented the National Action Plan for the Conservation of this seal species in the Caspian Sea.

The parties also discussed issues of cooperation in the study of the Caspian seal and its conservation.

It should be noted that the issue of preserving and restoring the caspian seal population is under the personal control of the Head of State. The Committee of Fisheries shall take all necessary measures for implementation.
