Charity Month "Shashu" under the calendar of the Assembly of people of Kazakhstan "Caravan of Mercy" started with the Day of Gratitude.
"Shashu" is a ritual of crumbling sweets (sometimes even coins) of the hero of the celebration during a joyful event. Kazakhs believe that coins and candy picked up from the ground or floor will bring good luck to the guests.
The third charitable month within Assembly of people of Kazakhstan started on March 1.
It is symbolic that on this day Kazakhstanis celebrate two national holidays – Day of founding Assembly of people of Kazakhstan and Gratitude Day.
In the House of Friendship of Astana on this day was held an event of the capital's Assembly, in which the ensemble "Azheler" held a ceremony "Qurmet korsetu" with a treat of Kazakh cuisine, as well as in honor of the beginning of a new month of charitable actions calendar demonstrated the same rite of the Kazakh people "Shashu".
It is worth noting that all the events that will take place during the year are very similar.
The first month of the calendar is called the ancient tradition of "Sarkyt" – treats from the festive table. In addition, the tradition has a spiritual, moral and educational character - to suppress blasphemous attitude to food and calls to share it with those in need.
The second action is "Sybaga", which means a kind of share intended for relatives, matchmakers, respected families and aksakals. It was aimed at providing support and assistance to the elderly, orphans and the sick.
In April, the campaign will be called Asar. It is an ancient custom of the Kazakh people according to which people, having gathered together, sincerely and absolutely gratuitously perform work which is impossible for one person or one family.
It should be remindced that the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan has developed a calendar of charitable events "Caravan of Mercy" until the end of 2019, prepared on the basis of traditions of the people of Kazakhstan and taking into account the national holidays of the country. This will allow every citizen of Kazakhstan to become a part of social processes in the country and get closer to the culture of the Kazakh people.
This year's actions will be held under a single slogan "Meyirimdilikpen birlikke!" and will cover all regions of the country.
