British university allocates over 200 grants for Kazakhstan graduates

Opportunities for obtaining a foreign education without leaving the country are expanding in Kazakhstan. Several branches of foreign universities are offering grants for Kazakhstani graduates, El.kz reports.

This specifically concerns programs from the British De Montfort University, implemented at its international campus in Almaty. In 2026, over 200 grants covering up to 50% of tuition costs are available for university applicants. Instruction is conducted in English, and graduates receive a British-standard diploma. The first graduation ceremony took place in 2025, with more than 200 students receiving their degrees.

At the same time, experts note that similar opportunities are currently being offered by other foreign universities operating in Kazakhstan. According to government data, dozens of branches of foreign higher education institutions have already opened in the country, and their number continues to grow. For example, state-funded education is available at the Kazakhstan branch of Lomonosov Moscow State University, where budget places are allocated annually for undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, international universities involving foreign states operate in the country, such as the Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, funded by the governments of Kazakhstan and Turkey, where education is also supported by state funds.

According to relevant ministries, thousands of educational grants and scholarships are allocated annually across various fields of study through cooperation programs with foreign universities. As a rule, these cover between 20% and 50% of the tuition cost and are awarded on a competitive basis.
