The international chess tournament Sharjah Masters International Chess Championship 2025 has concluded in the city of Sharjah (UAE), gathering 64 grandmasters and 17 international masters with ratings ranging from 2453 to 2771, El.kz reports citing the Committee for Sports and Physical Culture.
Kazakhstani chess player Bibisara Assaubaeva achieved the best result among women, surpassing Chinese player Zhu Jiner (2541) and Indian athlete Divya Deshmukh (2469).
Among other participants from Kazakhstan, Edgar Mamedov, Bibisara Assaubaeva , and Rinat Jumabayev scored 5 points out of 9 and finished in 24th, 28th, and 29th places.
Thus, Kazakhstan will present two new grandmasters — Bibisara Assaubaeva and Edgar Mamedov.
Their titles are expected to be officially confirmed at the upcoming meeting of the FIDE Presidential Council (2nd FIDE Council 2025).
