Shezhire in AI era: Maksat Zhabagin on preserving national digital heritageThe ban on using phones during lessons will not be included in Kazakhstan’s Digital Code, El.kz reports.
The Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development does not plan to add a provision prohibiting the use of phones in schools to the new Digital Code. This was announced by Vice Minister Dmitry Moon during a Mazhilis session, where deputies reviewed the document in its first reading.
According to him, the ministry’s main position is not to impose restrictions but to teach children how to use technology properly and safely.
“We must teach the younger generation to use phones consciously. It’s not about a ban, but about preventing them from falling behind in using modern tools — artificial intelligence, the internet, and digital services,” Moon emphasized.
