Azerbaijan President arrived in Astana

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has arrived in Astana to participate in the 24th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the SCO, El.kz reports.

At the airport, he was greeted by Deputy PM of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev.

There is a stable growth in bilateral trade between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. At the end of 2023, mutual trade increased by 14.4%, reaching $529.4 million. The positive dynamics continues this year: in the first four months, the trade turnover increased by 0.5%, reaching $184.9 million.

In addition, the supply of Kazakh oil through the territory of Azerbaijan to Europe has been established.

494 thousand tons of oil have been pumped during January-April of this year, which demonstrates the effectiveness of cooperation between the countries in the energy sector.
