Captain Aibek Oralbay triumphed in the final of the World Boxing Championships Liverpool 2025, El.kz reports citing the press service of the National Olympic Committee of Kazakhstan.

He claimed victory in the over-90 kg weight category.

In the decisive bout, Oralbay defeated Uzbekistan’s Jakhongir Zokirov and took the gold medal with a score 3:2.

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the boxers, stressing that the most important competitions still lie ahead.

“The performance of Kazakh boxers at this global tournament can be recognized as successful overall. However, intensive preparations for the upcoming Olympic Games in the United States must continue”, the Head of State wrote on social media.
