The State Revenue Committee of Kazakhstan reported that from February 9 to 11, automobile checkpoints on the border with China will be closed, El.kz reports.
On these dates, the passage of people, vehicles and goods through automobile checkpoints will be suspended on the Kazakh-Chinese border. However, railway checkpoints will continue to operate as usual, the State Revenue Committee said.
Carriers were advised to plan their routes well in advance due to these temporary changes.
It is also noted that the reason for the temporary closure is the celebration of the Chinese New Year, which is one of the most important holidays in the country and is celebrated on the first new moon of the first month of the calendar year.
