Australia unveils MRI tech that freezes tumors without surgery

Liverpool Hospital in southwest Sydney has introduced Australia’s first MRI machine capable of performing cryoablation, a groundbreaking treatment that freezes and destroys tumours without invasive surgery, Elkz reports.

Using a gas-powered needle, doctors freeze the tumour into an “ice ball,” killing cancer cells with extreme precision.

The recovery is incredibly fast — patients can go home the very next day, unlike traditional surgery that requires long healing times.
