"Today is the International Day against Nuclear Tests. It has great importance to humanity. Atomic explosions caused enormous damage to the Kazakh land. This tragedy must not be repeated. Our country will always stand firm by the principles of nuclear safety," the President of Kazakhstan wrote.
Recall that the Closing Day of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site was approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated August 29, 1991. In 2019, the Closing Day of the Semipalatinsk Nuclear Test Site was included in the list of festive dates.
