5th World Nomad Games will be held in Astana from September 8 to 14, 2024, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
About 4,000 participants from over 100 countries will take part in the competition, which is expected by more than 100,000 tourists.
As part of the sports program, it is planned to hold competitions in 20 competitive and 10 demonstration sports, including horse racing, national wrestling, intellectual games, martial arts, archery, national types of bird hunting, horse racing, folk games and demonstration performances in ethnic sports.
The ethno-village "Universe of Nomads" in the very center of Astana will become a platform for acquaintance with the culture and traditions of the Kazakh people, as well as the culture of the participating countries. Up to 30 thousand residents and guests of the capital will be able to visit the ethno-village daily. The event will be timed to coincide with the motto "Uly Dala Dubiri" - "Meeting in the Great Steppe".
