From September 25 to 27, 2024, an international conference on the topic "Multidisciplinary Approach in the Diagnosis, Treatment and Rehabilitation of Neurological Diseases" was held in Astana, El.kz reports.
The conference was organized by the National Center for Children's Rehabilitation and Astana Medical University, with the support of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This event was part of the WHO global plan on epilepsy and other neurological diseases for the next ten years.
The event gathered more than 400 participants and will have wide coverage in the media including social media. Among the speakers were scientists from France, Italy, Australia, China, Turkey, India and other countries. The main topic of discussion was an integrated approach to the prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation of patients with neurological diseases.
The conference included practical master classes, which were attended not only by specialists, but also by parents of children with special needs. For the first time, the best specialists in the field of neurology and rehabilitation were awarded the Altyn Shipager Prize.
The resolution of the conference will become the basis for the further development of the rehabilitation service in Kazakhstan.
