Archaeologists and ethnographers gather at international conference dedicated to Kemal Akishev

The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan hosted an international scientific and practical seminar dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Honored Scientist of Kazakhstan Kemal Akishev, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the framework of the event, archival interviews were presented, a film screening, a photo exhibition and a retrospective of Kemal Akishev's scientific path were organized, two monographs dedicated to his anniversary were presented.

Kemal Akishev is one of the founders of the National Archaeological School. The Soviet and Kazakh archaeologist, the author of more than 200 scientific papers and 15 books, also made a great contribution to the opening of the Otrar Museum.

The seminar brought together domestic and foreign scientists, representatives of institutes of archaeology, history, ethnography, as well as universities and museums.

The event was organized by the Kemal Akishev Research Institute of Archaeology, the Department of Archaeology and Ethnology of the Faculty of History of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University, as well as the Bozok State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve.

Among the partners are the North-Eastern Federal University named after M. Ammosov (Sakha Republic) and the Kyrgyz National University named after J. Balasagyn.

Also, as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Kemal Akishev, a conference will be held at the Bozok State Historical and Cultural Museum-Reserve with the participation of more than 50 scientists and 10 academic and higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan, far abroad and the CIS countries.
