Apple has started rolling out watchOS 26.2, a new Apple Watch update. Though the latest firmware doesn’t include many novel features, it introduces a noticeable change to sleep tracking. The sleep scores are now categorized to better indicate how well you actually rested during the night, El.kz cites Digital Trends.
Previously, the Apple Watch sleep scores felt more optimistic than accurate. Even on nights with inconsistent sleep, the watch showed an excellent rating in the morning. However, with watchOS 26.2, Apple has addressed the issue by tightening the ratings.
The top category (which is supposed to appear when you sleep really well) is now labeled “Very High.” Furthermore, the thresholds for scores like “High,” “OK,” “Low,” and “Very Low” have been adjusted to feel more realistic, rather than optimistic and generous.
Though the company hasn’t changed the mechanism for measuring sleep, it has modified how watchOS presents that data to users. It is a significant change because it provides more honest feedback about users’ sleep. If you wear your Apple Watch to bed, expect more accurate sleep scores that are closer to reality.
