Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Iraq Aidarbek Toumatov met with the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, El.kz cites MFA.
During the meeting, the parties discussed strengthening bilateral ties, including trade, economic and investment spheres.
Special attention was paid to the role of the Kurdish community in Kazakhstan in establishing mutually beneficial cooperation with the Republic of Iraq, including the Kurdistan Region.
In addition, the meeting discussed issues of mutual assistance in the consular sphere. Thus, since 2019, about 600 citizens of Kazakhstan have been safely returned to the country from the war zones of the Middle East conflict with the assistance of the Kurdistan Region.
In conclusion, agreements were reached to intensify bilateral dialogue in economic and investment directions.
