More than half of the growth was provided by internal migration
The population of the largest metropolis of the country over the past 10 years has increased by half a million people. This is stated in the document "The main priorities of the Almaty development plan until 2025 and the medium-term prospects until 2030", El.kz reports.
It is noted that about 60 percent of the growth is provided by internal migration, in the structure of which the share of people with higher education increased from 30 percent in 2012 to 60 percent in 2021.
The document is under general discussion until July 1 of this year.
