Almaty Zoo sets attendance record with over million visitors

The Almaty Zoo announced a record-setting with  1,097,236 guests of all ages within last year, El.kz reports citing the press service of Almaty akimat.

- The zoo is home to 3,838 animals of 361 species, and 223 specialists take care of them. Of the total number of visitors, 250 thousand people visited the zoo for free - these are children under 6 years old, large families, pensioners and people with disabilities.

The new attendance record was made possible by the growing popularity of the zoo, which continues to attract more nature lovers and family vacationers. The zoo also has various clubs for children as part of the zoo school.
