Almaty to host Space Modelling championship

From July 15 to 17, the KAZROCKETS Aerospace Tournament 2024 organized by the KazRockets Foundation with the support of the Aerospace Committee of the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry and RocketTech will be held at Baiserke airfield  in Almaty, El.kz reports  with reference to the press service of the department.

These annual competitions in Kazakhstan and Central Asia are aimed at the development of spacemodelling and practical engineering among young people.

“The main goal of the tournament is to inspire the youth of Kazakhstan to study aerospace technologies and scientific research. Participants will have a unique opportunity to design, build and launch rocket models. We strive to revive interest in sports rocket modeling and stimulate interest in science and engineering through the design of rockets," the report says.

The event will include opening ceremonies and safety briefings, after which participants will demonstrate their skills in designing and launching aircraft in various classes, such as S3A, S6A, S4 and launch vehicles. Equipment and models will also be checked for compliance with international FAI standards.

Over 150 participants are expected, including young people from 14 years old, students. Participants will be able not only to show their technical skills, but also to develop the team and communication skills necessary for a successful career in engineering and scientific fields. The winners of the tournament will receive prizes and the opportunity to continue their studies and careers in the aerospace industry.
