On Tuesday, July 4, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the capital, a solemn opening ceremony of the Alley of Journalists, built on the initiative of the Akimat of Astana, was held, El.kz reports.
The alley will become a meeting place for media workers, celebrating common achievements and holding cultural events. Also on the alley there is a sculpture "Reader" and special statues of a reporter and cameraman in honor of publishing workers. The mentioned park is located on Egemen Kazakhstan.
The first speaker at the event was Minister of Information and Social Development Darkhan Kydyrali.
The opening of the Alley of Journalists on the eve of the Day of the Capital in front of the building where the editorial offices of the top Kazakh publications "Egemen Kazakhstan" and "Kazakhstanskaya Pravda" are located is also symbolic. This is due to the fact that this year Astana celebrates its 25th anniversary. Veteran journalists have worked hard to make our capital better, this is a gift for them," the minister said.
Mayor of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek congratulated the residents of the city on the 25th anniversary of the capital and noted the importance of the Alley of Journalists.
For 25 years, our capital has become not only an administrative, but also a creative cultural center. Today, the central offices of representatives of the country's largest publications and media are located in Astana. Therefore, I consider the appearance of the Alley of Journalists in our capital to be a natural phenomenon," said the akim of Astana.
The event was attended by honored workers of the country, veterans and respected representatives of the media, cultural workers, deputies of the capital council and youth.
