From May 1 to May 6, the capital of Kazakhstan will host the 57th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad. It will be attended by representatives of more than 20 countries. Among them are Russia, Austria, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Israel, Uzbekistan and others. The composition of the teams was determined based on the results of the National Chemistry Olympiads. The honor of our country is defended by 15 children, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
"The International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad for schoolchildren is being held in our country for the fourth time. This year, the main events will be held in Astana. In particular, the children will demonstrate their skills in the laboratories and classrooms of Nazarbayev University, the technical equipment of which fully complies with the conditions of this Olympiad," said Gazhdembek Tursunov, Director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Daryn".
The organizers of the Olympiad on the host side are the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, on the Russian side - the Faculty of Chemistry of Lomonosov Moscow State University and the Andrey Melnichenko Foundation.
At the end of the Olympiad, participants will be awarded certificates and memorable gifts, winners and prize-winners will receive diplomas in degrees and medals. The absolute winner will be awarded the Academician Valery Lunin Prize, established by the organizers of the competition.
