In the Republic of Kazakhstan, 43 large industrial enterprises have installed an automated monitoring system (AFS), which significantly reduces their impact on the environment. The main sources of pollutant emissions are located in Pavlodar, Karaganda, Aktobe, Atyrau and East Kazakhstan regions, El.kz reports .

To combat impacts on the environment, these enterprises develop and implement annual plans of environmental protection measures. The plans provide for the reconstruction and modernization of production processes at the expense of the enterprises' own funds.

The implementation of these plans is subject to strict control by the environmental authorities during inspections and the issuance of environmental permits.

The Minister of Ecology of the Republic of Kazakhstan Y. Nysanbayev said that the introduction of AFM is mandatory for facilities of the 1st category. This system provides the ability to monitor environmental impacts in real time, allowing businesses and environmental inspectorates to respond quickly to changes. At the moment, out of 91 enterprises required to install such a system, 43 have already implemented it, and 9 of them are connected to the information system of the Ministry of Ecology, transmitting the necessary information.

To improve the environmental situation in the regions in 2020, 18 Roadmaps were developed and approved, containing 532 planned activities, of which 204 have been implemented to date. This process is under the special control of the Ministry of Ecology.
