On August 14–15, Kazakhstan’s capital will host the first-ever Military Challenge Kazakh Wrestling, El.kz reports.

The tournament will mark an important milestone in the development of Qazaq Kuresi and offer military athletes an opportunity to strengthen international sports ties and promote the national style of wrestling.

Kazakh  Ministry of Defense became the first state body to implement this initiative on the international stage — within the framework of the International Military Sports Council (CISM).

Kazakhstan has also proposed including Qazaq Kuresi in the official CISM program. The initiative has received broad support and has become a significant milestone in the development of Kazakhstan’s traditional sports on the global stage.

The successful hosting of the Military Challenge Kazakh Wrestling has become a historic stage, confirming the relevance and high potential of this national wrestling style. CISM is currently considering adding Qazaq Kuresi to its annual calendar of international military competitions, as well as to the program of the World Military Games, scheduled for 2027 in the United States.

This initiative by Kazakhstan is a vivid example of cultural diplomacy and international sports cooperation, opening new prospects for the recognition and promotion of Qazaq Kuresi in the global sports community.
