Ruslan Zhakssylykov has been appointed First Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan, El.kz reports citing Aqorda.

Ruslan Zhakssylykov was born in 1966 in Kaskelen. He graduated from Almaty Higher Combined Arms Command School, Frunze Military Academy, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Russia. He has held the rank of Colonel General since 2022. Previously, he served as Minister of Defense, Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, and Commander of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.
