By the end of this year, new aircraft with a total capacity of 2.5 thousand seats will be put into operation. In particular, 9 airplanes by the airline "SCAT", "Fly Arystan" - 3 and "Air Astana" - 2. This was announced by the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development Kairbek Uskenbayev in his Telegram channel, El.kz reports.
According to the head of the department, today there is an increase in passenger traffic by air transport. In turn, this affected the chain delays of flights, which causes fair criticism from the population.
"For a prompt resolution of the issue, I instructed Kazakhstani air carriers to purchase new airplanes. Thus, by the end of the year, 14 new airplanes with a total capacity of 2.5 thousand seats will be put into operation. I believe that these measures will significantly increase the carrying capacity," the minister said.
Taking into account the fact of increasing demand for air transportation, it became known that the Kazakhstani fleet of aircraft by 2025 will be replenished by 51 units.
As for the facts of flight delays, on behalf of the head of the Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development, the Civil Aviation Committee and the Aviation Administration of Kazakhstan launched a corresponding investigation. If the fact of violation of the rights of passengers during the delay and cancellation of flights is established, the airlines will be brought to administrative responsibility.
It should be noted that 75 aircrafts are currently involved in passenger air transport. For 6 months of this year, the number of passengers carried increased by 10% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 4.6 million passengers. Compared to the pre-pandemic period, the growth was 28%.
