120 thousand people work in mechanical engineering of Kazakhstan

Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov chaired government session on the development of the engineering industry in Kazakhstan,El.kz reports.

About 4 thousand companies and more than 120 thousand people are involved in the engineering industry. As the minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev emphasized, the volume of investments in the industry has increased 2 times and reached 124 billion tenge from January to September 2024.

The total volume of production amounted to more than 3 trillion tenge with a volume index of 104.2%.

The largest share in the structure of mechanical engineering falls on the automotive, railway and electrical industries, which confirms the high role of the sector in the country's economy.
