Kazakhstani boxer declared WBO middleweight world champion

The World Boxing Organization (WBO) has issued an official resolution in which it declared Kazakhstani boxer Zhanibek Alimkhanuly a full-fledged WBO middleweight world champion, El.kz reports with reference to the Sports.kz.
Former title holder Demetrius Andrade refused to defend the title against Zhanibek Alimkhanuly.
Instead, the American decided to move to the second middleweight and fight for the "temporary" WBO belt with briton Zach Parker. The organization has already authorized such a fight and given the parties time to negotiate.
