Kazakhstan and Luxembourg intend to expand bilateral ties

Ambassador of Kazakhstan Margulan Baimukhan visited Luxembourg, where he took part in ceremonial events on the occasion of the National Day of the Grand Duchy, and also met with representatives of political and diplomatic circles,El.kz cites MFA.

The Kazakh diplomat congratulated prominent political figures of Luxembourg on the National Day - the Birthday of the Grand Duke, and also discussed upcoming events with representatives of the country's Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs.

The meeting with the Secretary General of the Parliament of Luxembourg Laurent Scheeck was devoted to the prospects of the Kazakh-Luxembourg inter-parliamentary dialogue. The exchange of visits of parliamentary delegations was discussed as well.

Luxembourg parliamentarians invited their Kazakh colleagues to visit Luxembourg this year. The Kazakh diplomat paid special attention to the political and economic reforms carried out in Kazakhstan on the initiative of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

In addition, Margulan Baimukhan noted that Kazakhstan and Luxembourg continue to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in all areas, and strengthening the inter-parliamentary dialogue will give additional impetus to bilateral relations.

According to Laurent Scheeck, Kazakhstan plays a very important role in strengthening ties between Luxembourg and the Central Asian region. Meanwhile, Vice Speaker of the Luxembourg Parliament Fernand Etgen noted that he fully supports the strengthening of inter-parliamentary cooperation with Kazakhstan.

During a separate meeting with the Head of the Intelligence (FIU) of the Grand Duchy, Max Braun, cooperation between Kazakh and Luxembourg financial agencies in the field of identifying and combating financial crimes, as well as asset recovery, was discussed.

Max Braun expressed his readiness to intensify cooperation with Kazakh colleagues. An agreement was reached to work out the issue of concluding a memorandum of understanding between the financial agencies of the two countries. In addition, the Financial Intelligence Unit invited Kazakh colleagues to visit Luxembourg in 2025, and also expressed its readiness to hold online negotiations with Kazakh counter-parts in the near future.
