Kazakh President gets acquainted with preparations for 5th World Nomad Games
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev got acquainted with the preparations for the 5th World Nomad Games which will be held from September 8 to 13,El.kz reports.
The Head of State visited the 30,000-seat Astana Arena stadium, where the opening ceremony of the Games will be held. The stadium have recently been overhauled and fitted with equipment.
Tokayev also visited the accreditation center at the Qazaqstan athletics complex, where he was presented with the uniform of the national team. 1500 volunteers will take part in the events, and the preparation of the national team is actively carried out under the leadership of the Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev. To date, athletes have held 42 training camps and participated in 32 tournaments.
It is expected that 2800 athletes from 89 countries will take part in the 5th World Nomad Games , and 97 sets of medals in 21 sports will be played. The main competitions will be held at the Astana Arena Stadium, Kazanat Hippodrome, Alau Ice Palace, Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Wrestling Palace, Duman Complex.
According to preliminary forecasts, about 100 thousand tourists are expected to arrive in the capital. In this regard, more than 20 hotels are being prepared and the city is being improved.
