Kazakh Minister of Defense takes part in SCO meeting
The head of the country's defense department, Colonel-General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, took part in a regular meeting of defense ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in New Delhi, El.kz reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The defense ministers of India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan exchanged views on cooperation in the field of defense in the format of the Organization, taking into account the current geopolitical situation.
The participants of the meeting noted that the strengthening of confidence-building measures in the military field, the coordination of the efforts of the SCO member states to counter new challenges and threats to regional security remain relevant on the agenda of the Organization.
The next meeting of the heads of defense departments of the SCO member states will be held in 2024 in Kazakhstan. Recall that during the meeting, the head of the defense department of Kazakhstan, Colonel-General Ruslan Zhaksylykov, met with his colleagues - Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the People's Liberation Army of China, Colonel-General Li Shanfu. The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral military cooperation.
