Kassym-Jomart Tokayev meets with Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda

President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda during which he expressed confidence that the agreements reached the day before will raise the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries to a new level, El.kz reports with reference to Akorda.

Tokayev expressed gratitude for the assistance in holding a high-level business forum, where agreements worth over $1 bln were signed. The President also stressed that both countries should strive to achieve the goal of $2 bln in mutual trade and work to find sources to increase trade.

The President of Kazakhstan reaffirmed his commitment to further strengthening the partnership with Tajikistan. In turn, Kokhir Rasulzoda thanked Tokayev for the visit and noted the intensification of mutually beneficial ties in recent years. He stressed that Kazakhstan is an important trading partner for Tajikistan, and an increase in trade turnover by 20 percent in the first half of the year indicates the growth of cooperation. The Prime Minister of Tajikistan expressed confidence in the feasibility of achieving the goal of increasing trade to $2 billion.

Both leaders stressed the importance of the practical implementation of the signed agreements and unlocking the potential of trade and economic cooperation, industrial cooperation, as well as cooperation in the field of transport and transit.
