Cooperation agreements worth $629 million signed at Kazakhstan-China forum
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin took part in the III Kazakhstan-China Interregional Forum, which was held on June 26 in Urumqi (XUAR, China). As part of the event, 17 cooperation documents worth $629 million were signed, El.kz reports with reference to primeminister.
The forum discussed topical issues of trade, economic, transport, investment, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the regions of Kazakhstan and China. The event was attended by representatives of 17 regions of Kazakhstan, large companies and business circles, as well as 27 regions of China.
In his speech at the opening of the event, Serik Zhumangarin noted that China ranks fourth in terms of investment in Kazakhstan.
"All conditions have been created between Kazakhstan and China for intensive interregional cooperation. At the same time, there is great potential for new opportunities for investment cooperation," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Among the signed documents are agreements between the Almaty region and TBEA PJSC on the construction and modernization of 10 substations and power lines, the construction of a plant for the production of electrical equipment, three contracts for the supply of sunflower oil and an agreement between Qazaq Camel LLP and Xinjang Huaken Dairy Group Co ltd on the supply of camel milk powder.
On the same day, the international exhibition "EXPO China-Eurasia" began its work in Urumqi. This is the eighth professional brand exhibition focused on the market. Its opening was attended by the heads of government of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, deputy PMs of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
In his welcoming speech at the opening of the exhibition, Serik Zhumangarin stressed that the new page of the "golden 30th anniversary" of relations between China and Kazakhstan sets new ambitious goals. One of them is to bring mutual trade to $100 billion.
The Kazakh pavilion with an area of 260 square meters became the largest among the guest pavilions at EXPO China-Eurasia. Export goods of 42 domestic companies, mainly food products, were presented here. The organizer of the Kazakh pavilion was the Qaztrade Trade Policy Development Center.
