Rise in measles cases registered in Kostanay region

According to the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control, 330 cases of measles were registered in the Kostanay region,  El.kz reports with reference to kstnews.kz.

In just one day, on the 25th day of January, the diagnosis was confirmed in 111 patients.  Basically, 200 people get sick in Kostanay, and mainly children under 14 years old fall ill, most of them - from one to 5 years old. Moreover, in 74.2% (245) the unvaccinated are infected. Measles affected 35 children attending preschool institutions, 39 schoolchildren, and 58 students.

As part of the additional mass immunization that began last fall, 38,242 people out of 44,500 planned have been vaccinated against measles. This is still 85.9% of those to be vaccinated.
