The President of Kazakhstan thanked Ilham Aliyev for accepting the invitation and visiting Astana.

"In August, I paid a visit to Baku, it was absolutely effective and gave a serious impetus to the development of bilateral relations. Now there is a need to compare notes, to check the work carried out by the governments of the two countries in pursuance of the instructions of the presidents.

I would like to note that Azerbaijan is a fraternal and very close state for Kazakhstan. We are doing everything possible to develop comprehensive cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres and, of course, to cooperate in the political arena, whether it is a bilateral format or international organisations.

We were preparing for your visit. We are focused on very serious work to develop economic cooperation and cooperation with Azerbaijan, which plays a leading role in the Transcaucasian region. There are no problems between us. There is only a desire to go forward in this direction," Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
