According to Newzoo analysts, the number of gamers in the world, will reach 3.38 billion people by the end of 2023, which is 6.3% more than at the end of 2022, El.kz reports citing Ranking.

More than half of the players — 1.8 billion people — will be in the Asia-Pacific region, China and India, as well as countries with high gaming activity, such as Japan and Korea. It is followed by Africa and the Middle East (574 million people), Europe (447 million people), Latin America (335 million people) and North America (237 million people).

The number of gamers will increase around the world, and most noticeably in Latin America: by 12.3% per year. This is followed by Africa and the Middle East (up 6.1% each) and North America (up 5.7%).

Gaming revenues to grow by 0.6% to $184 billion in 2023. In 2026, they could reach $205.7 billion.

Almost half of the world's gaming revenue is $90.4 billion. In the United States, mobile games will be accounted for, with a decrease of 1.6% compared to 2022. Revenues from mobile games may dexter due to the new privacy policies implemented by Apple and Google, which will affect monetization and attracting new players.

This is followed by console gaming, which will bring in $53.2 billion in 2023. Year-on-year growth is 1.9%. Revenues from computer games will grow most noticeably: by 5.2%, to $38.4 billion. Revenues from console and PC games will show growth, among other things, due to the postponement of the release of AAA games (triple-A, or "triple-A", an informal term for a class of high-budget computer games), which were supposed to be released earlier, but were postponed due to the pandemic.

In terms of regions, the Asia-Pacific region is expected to account for the largest amount of revenue from games: $84.1 billion. It is followed by North America and Europe: $50.6 billion and $33.6 billion respectively.
